From her ethnographic fieldworks within rap movement in Libreville, Alice Aterianus proposes an anthropological look on political languages developed around musical practice in Gabon since the beginning of the 90’s. Describing the campaign for the presidential election of august 2009, this article presents the logics of interpenetration between the network of rap music and the political environment, and the stakes contained in different kinds of participations to the campaign, conceived as varied strategies for invention of politic and as instruments of pressure on power creating a debate about the notion of democracy in Gabon.
