Equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI) issues bring new socio-professional configurations to organizations, fostering greater sensitivity to discrimination, more equitable access to employment, while enriching the perspectives through which organizations can fulfill their mission. However, this integration is not easy and the underlying values are little known, poorly understood or even denounced. Therefore, we cannot deal with EDI issues without considering their communication dimension. This article reports on a cross-sector (association, research, organization) workshop co-organized by RESIPROC and AFMD, entitled «La professionnalisation en communication au prisme de la diversité». In this article, we present the four issues co-developed during this workshop, all of which are research directions: 1) how to define diversity, 2) the sensitivity required to integrate it, 3) tools for measuring diversity, and 4) integrating EDI into training curricula. For each theme, we identify the challenges and opportunities facing communicators.
