Abstract

This article tries to make a first assessment of the way sociologists analyze labor and companies in Morocco. Despite the profound social changes that marked the Moroccan society during the past two decades, Moroccan sociology remained a prisoner of a classical approach which promotes the rural areas and ignores dynamics that abound in cities and productive worlds. Should we decolonize social sciences to allow Moroccan sociologists to open up to new social phenomena, especially those pertaining to labor? Or does the question relate to the standards of training and reproduction of sociological elites in the Moroccan context? To locate the new prospects recently outlined by young sociologists, we present their research on the world of Moroccan production while offering a reader-friendly typology.
