Based on an investigation led with voluntary people in charge, this article describes the appearance of the « elder skills-based volunteering » and questions its issues through the specific case of the association Ecti. It shows how this form of volunteering engagement joins a dynamic of professionnalization of the volunteering activities and how it is crossed by tensions around a search for economic valuation of such activities. It finally shows how obstacles such as the critics of the consultants towards « elder skills-based volunteering » oppose this project and create the conditions of the emergence of a particular form of resistance.
