Abstract

Given the increasing social relevance of Pentecostalism and its political visibility, the politicization of the Evangelicals has become a political issue in Brazil. The aim of this article is to study the structuring capacity of the Pentecostal imaginary. This bottom-up reflection, based on the trajectory, practices and policy choices of the church members, aims to rethink the relationship between both spheres in Brazil, and to analyze the relationship between religious beliefs and the democratic expression of the citizens.
