This article questions the professionalizing claims for teaching communication in lifelong learning (secondary school) in the Wallonia-Brussels Federation (Belgium). First we specify the features of this type of training and its initial connection with the professionalization of the public. We analyze then from a corpus compouned by pedagogical dossiers how the knowledge in communication circulates, how it materializes in these resources that explain the aims and the capacities to be developed in the teaching units with regard to a defined professional profile. Finally we conclude by identifying the logics of professionalization in this type of teaching.
