  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or PDF and the authors' identities are kept hidden from reviewers to ensure a double-blind review (in the main text).
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • Institutions and e-mails have been provided for all authors in a separate file (Title page).
  • A data availability statement is available, indicating in the comments to the editors if the data and codes will be made available through a public repository or as supplementary files to the main paper.

Directives aux auteurs

Guidelines for authors in English

Guideline for authors in French

The manuscript, in French or English, must be submitted in Word format, with the tables, maps and figures in the correct place in the body of the text. In addition, once the paper is accepted, the figures and maps must also be sent in a separate file with the numerical series (in Excel) used to build them.

Plagiarism will not be tolerated. Submissions are systematically checked for plagiarism through editorial assessment and peer reviewers’ comments.

The Quetelet Journal has no author-side article processing charge or submission-related charge.
