Author Guidelines

TheoLogica is a multidisciplinary research journal focused on philosophy of religion and theology (analytic theology, natural theology, philosophical theology), exploring philosophical and theological topics with the standards of conceptual clarity and rigorous argumentation, which are recognized (in particular but not exclusively) in the analytic tradition. The Journal adopts the Open Access Journal (free access) in order to promote research and development of philosophy of religion and theology. In order to foster international scientific discussion between different linguistic communities, we welcome articles and reviews written in Spanish, French, English, Italian and German.

TheoLogica is published biannually.

Refereeing process

TheoLogica adheres to a double-blind review policy. No article submission or processing fees are charged.

The Editors evaluate each manuscript to determine if its topic and content is suitable for consideration by TheoLogica. Manuscripts that do not meet minimum criteria are returned to the authors within two weeks of receipt.

After initial screening by the Editors, accepted submissions are reviewed by two referees under a double-blind peer review process, and their reports made available to authors. The whole review process takes a maximum of 3 months. The referees are members of the Editorial Committee or other designated expert. Authors should note that positive referees' reports are not a sufficient condition for acceptance. Final decision about acceptance will be taken by the Editor.

Based on the referees' comments, the Editors may seek the advice of a committee member or make a final decision on the acceptability of the manuscript and communicate to the authors the decision, along with referees' reports.

Papers may be i) accepted with no revisions, ii) accepted with minor revisions, iii) revise & resubmit, or iv) rejected.

Proofs will be sent to the corresponding author by email. Corrections should be returned within 25 days of receipt.

Once the initial proof has been corrected and finalized, the article is ready for Online First publication.

Guest Editors

When a guest editor submits a paper to his/her Special Issue [S. I.], he/she must respect the refereeing process. In this case, the second editor must evaluate the paper.

The TheoLogica Editors (Jean-Baptiste Guillon, Ide Lévi, Alejandro Pérez) are not responsible and cannot interact with the refereeing process. Consequently, only Guest editors are responsible for the final decision.

All papers accepted by the editors must adopt the TheoLogica Style before the proofreading process. Guest editors are invited to ensure this step.

When the SI is finished, guest editors must send to the managing editor a list with all the referees participating in the special issue. This list will be published at the end of the year.

Style Guide

Articles submitted to TheoLogica cannot have been published previously elsewhere, or be under consideration by any other journal or publisher simultaneously.

All submissions must be prepared for blind review, and must bear no trace of the author’s identity. Acknowledgements must be removed for the initial review.

Even if submission of a paper has been suggested by persons associated with TheoLogica, including members of the Editorial Committee themselves, all contributions submitted are treated in accordance with the Editorial procedures. The thematic issues must be based on Editorial procedures.

Submitted papers should be written in Spanish, English, French, German or Italian.

The number of notes should be kept to a reasonable proportion.

For all submissions a short but properly informative abstract (maximum 200 words) at the beginning of the paper is required, followed by 5 keywords.

Submission should ordinarily be under 10,000 words

All contributions should be made via the online submission system of the journal: https://ojs.uclouvain.be/index.php/theologica/index
