Antoine Meinsier est lauréat aux HERA Awards 2024 dans la catégorie Sustainable Architecture et est distingué d'une mention au Prix Van Hove 2023 pour son travail de fin d'études intitulé  La frugalité, vers un renouveau de l’architecture et ayant pour objet la reconversion de la savonnerie Pollet, un ancien site industriel situé au cœur de la ville de Tournai. Cet article en fait écho.  Le projet a pour ambition d'intégrer la notion de frugalité en architecture, de la transformation à l'utilisation du bâtiment. "Observant l'urbanisation des campagnes et le dépeuplement des centres urbains, [Antoine] questionne la construction de nouvelles zones alors que des bâtiments existants restent inoccupés. Face aux défis climatiques, il souligne le rôle crucial des architectes pour une architecture durable. Abstract. Antoine Meinsier is 2024 winner of the Hera Award in the Sustainable architecture category and was awarded a mention in the Van Hove Prize 2023 for his master’s thesis entitled Frugality, Towards a Renewal of Architecture, which focused on the conversion of the Pollet soap factory, a former industrial site in the heart of Tournai. This article is an echo of that project.  The project aims to integrate the notion of frugality into architecture, from the transformation to the use of the building. ‘Observing the urbanisation of the countryside and the depopulation of urban centres, [Antoine] questions the construction of new areas while existing buildings remain unoccupied. Faced with the challenges of climate change, he highlights the crucial role of architects in achieving sustainable architecture.
