This is a reply to an article by Stéphanie Debray (Lato Sensu 10(1):2:13–23, 2023) on the author’s proposed definition of pseudoscience. The topics discussed include the distinction between demarcating and defining pseudoscience, the need for specialized scientific expertise in diagnosing pseudoscience, the usefulness of a broad definition of science, the relation between religion and science, and the relations between pseudoscience and other deviations from legitimate science.
